In Blutmond, Samara Hersh and her team invite the audience into darkness and mystery, turning the theatre into a place of collective resistance, invocation and transformation. The stage will be peopled with young “witches” from Hanover; this is the continuation of the Australian artist’s work with young people after Body of Knowledge or We All Know What’s Happening. Her aim in these works is to question existing views of power structures in the theatre and society in general through trans-generational discourse and a non-hierarchical form of knowledge exchange.
